Mexico!!!

Being a consultant has many ups and downs. The downs: We travel all the time to places like Decatur, IL and Minneapolis mid-winter, we work long hours, sleep in way too many hotel beds and eat too many meals on the road. The ups: hotel and airlines miles. Period.

It was due time for Brian and me to cash in some points and take a much needed vacation. So we did. We ate. We drank. We laid at the pool and beach. And I wanted to share a little bit of it with you all. Mostly to make you jealous, and a little bit to highlight our food adventures in Cancun.

Being the hotel hopping consultants we are, we happen to have awesome status at Le Meridien. What exactly did this mean for our vacation? Free breakfast every morning and free cocktail hour every night from 5-7. I know, sweet. So we dined at the hotel for basically every breakfast and lunch. As for dinner, we wanted to seek out the best local fare we could get our hands on. It wasn't easy, but after a few nights of being directed to horribly touristy areas, we eventually got some people to tell us where the Mexicans eat in Cancun . We ended up having some absolutely delicious and spicy meals. Lots of fresh seafood, homemade tortillas and salsas, and lots of cheladas! Here's a little glimpse at our trip! Be jealous.
